There is so much information, opinions, and thoughts on what Library 2.0 is and how important it is that we all keep up with the ever-changing face of technology and keep (or make) our libraries more relevant and user-friendly. I whole-heartedly agree that libraries are and/or must remain dynamic places for access to information and social interaction within communities. How that happens seems to manifest according to the individual library and the community it serves. For our(newly expanded) medium branch our service to our patronage is evolving, as is our patronage itself.
Learning these 23 things will serve to provide all of us the experience and knowledge that will probably be useful to our patrons in the near future. Right now, many of our patrons are happy if staff will "do all the work" for them and are just beginning to see how being able to navigate in our catalog for finding and placing materials on hold for themselves is actually gratifying (and simple to do.) Yet, being informed and experienced in the current tech way of social networking is certainly beneficial, if not imperative for library staff.
